This is an English language information program for people living in or visiting the Yatsugatake area, inviting you to join in and experience some of the interesting local events. This is Noriko from the FM Yatsugatake studio in Kobuchisawa.

On Wednesday the 23rd of May, Yatsugatake Aruko-kai Walking Asocciation will be continuing their Koshu-Kaido Walk from Fuchu to Hachioji. They will be assembling at Bubaigawara station on JR Nambu Line or Keio Line at 9:30. This leg will be a 17 kilometre walk and will cost 1,000 yen. The 9th annual Yatsugatake Farmers' Market will be held from Friday the 25th, until Sunday the 27nd of May at the Fujimi Kogen Ski Resort. 34 producers of plants and vegetables will be selling their garden and farm plants. There will also be free lectures and workshops, plus food and drink stalls, as well as two restaurants in the building serving a special menu for the event. On Saturday the 26th of May, a handmade crafts and food fair Niji-Sora Marche is planned from 10:30 to 2:30 at the kominka guesthouse Machiya-tei in Oizumi. The fair will be for all age groups, including babies. As well as crafts and food stalls there will be four workshops, including a baby massage class! Inquiries to Kobayashi-san on 080-1081-4060.
From Saturday the 26th of May until Saturday the 30th of June at the Yamanashi Flower Centre Heidi's Village, they are holding their first Roses of the World Exhibition. Roses from 7 countries will be displayed, and on Sunday the 10th of June there will be a free guided walk from 1 o'clock in the afternoon. There will also be special workshops on how to grow and look after roses, held on Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th of June. On Sunday the 27th of May, Mukawa Asaichi morning market will be held at the Maizuru restaurant on the route 20 in Mukawa from at 8 o'clock in the morning until 11. Local farmers and groups will be selling their produce, as well as running a number of food booths using locally grown products. Inquiries to the Blue Gate on 080-9581-9951.
